The boat is a 26' SportCraft Center Console. The 250 hp Evinrude is mounted on an exterior platform that provides the boat with more room. The transom is closed and the gunnels are deep for safety. It has a small cabin under the center console for privacy. Other features include: Electric winch anchoring system, VHF Radio, two Lowrance GPS/Fishfinder Electronics, an underwater sounding system and a porta-potti when requested. The hull is very stable and provides a smooth ride in the roughest water. This boat was originally designed to be a saltwater boat. The boat will do 40 mph but it is tough to catch fish going that fast.
In addition, I only use Garcia Ambassadeur reels. They are made in Sweden and tough as nails. And, we fillet and bag the fish for your trip home.
DO NOT bring hard soled shoes such as dress shoes, penny loafers, work boots, cowboy boots or similar as they leave black marks all over the deck. Mainly because there is a real danger of slipping right on your backside in a split second and get hurt. Tennis shoes, sneakers or boat shoes are recommended.
DO bring a small cooler for your food and drinks. Also good to carry your fish fillets home. Sun glasses so you don't burn your eyes. Sun Screen so you don't burn...Texas sun is hot, hot, hot. A cap or hat to protect you head. Rain gear if inclement weather is forecast. A camera for memories (phones today) and if you feel you might get sick, Dramamine before you get on the boat or Ginger is an old fashioned but excellent remedy for sea sickness.
